How Tallyho Limited shepherds pure New Zealand wool from our high-country pastures in Roxburgh directly into international shipping containers with certified laboratory precision.
Our non-mulesed flocks graze across the Teviot Valley's high-country native tussock and clover pastures. Cold alpine winters and arid sunny summers stimulate high natural crimp formation and clean staple growth without chemical fertilizers or hormone accelerants.
Conducted by audited New Zealand master shearers adhering to strict animal welfare standards. Each freshly shorn fleece is thrown onto round timber slatted classing tables where registered wool classers skirt away belly wool, vegetable fault, and stained pieces.
Mechanical coring tubes extract representative wool samples from every bale in the lot. Independent accredited laboratories test each sample for Laserscan fiber diameter (micron), clean yield percentage, staple length, tensile strength (N/ktex), and color.
Wool is press-packed into standardized ~200kg export bales using contaminant-free nylon/HDPE packs and high-tensile steel strapping. Each bale is indelibly stencilled with the Tallyho brand, lot identifier, and individual bale number for 100% supply chain traceability.
Loaded into 20ft (approx 55 bales / 11 tonnes) or 40ft High Cube containers (approx 110 bales / 22 tonnes) at Port Chalmers, Dunedin. Complete international shipping documentation provided: Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Phyto-sanitary, and AWTA test certificates.
